We happened to be looking for a restaurant on American Thanksgiving so naturally sought out an American restaurant! Stars & Stripes Glattpark is on the edge of zone 110 for the public transport, so around 20minutes away from the centre. There are 6 restaurants across Switzerland.
The menu in this restaurant is massive, it covers burgers, tex mex, cajun, chinatown, little italy and more. Of course we’re only interested in the burgers right now. There are at least 5 burgers on the menu and a seasonal option. ‘The Lovely One’ was the seasonal option on offer, including guacamole, peanut butter, shoots and mozzarella in a black toasted bun.
Initially I found the shoots to be a little overpowering, but after a few bites I enjoyed the mix of flavours with a hint of peanut butter. The burger patty itself was standard fare, being served on a small hotplate was a nice touch, although I rarely find my burgers have a chance to get cold!
The venue is large, plenty of space for groups and often busy on the weekends. The decor is wild west themed and quite a novelty. Large menu’s often give me the feeling of quantity over quality, but I don’t think that applies overly here.
As mentioned, this isn’t a burger restaurant, but burgers are pretty synonymous with America, so it stands to reason I reviewed it. I’ve been a few times which means it can’t be bad. If you’re in the north of the city and don’t want to visit one of the many pizza places it’s a nice choice.
